Michael's First Bath

I know what your thinking.... How old is this kid? I promise I sponged bathed him every other day since we got home from the hospital. Part of it is Mike's fault. I wanted to wait till he would be home one night so we could take pictures and have memories of Michael's first bath. Mike is really busy, and he told me in a non-rude way that it's not really that big of a deal to him, so today I decided that it was finally time to give him his first bath. Michael was great, he didn't really cry at all. He even seemed to enjoy his bath. At the end I could tell he was starting to get cold and a little fussy. Here he is. He's such a good baby. I even had some help from big sister Marley. She kept throwing in bath toys for Michael to play with.

Father's Day!

After church on Sunday I decided to take some pictures of the kids and Mike for Father's day. If you can't tell, wrangling two kids to take a picture isn't that easy. I love how Mike has a huge smile on his face the whole time.
I'm so thankful for Mike and his dedication to be such a great dad. I'm also thankful for my dad, who I have many great memories with. I think it's great that we have this day to celebrate fathers.

We also had an interesting day on Sunday as well. Our air conditioning stopped working for some reason. It's done this before, but it started working again shortly after it stopped- so we decided not to call anyone out to check it out-BIG mistake. Well this time it wasn't working for almost 12 hours, and since it was Sunday and Father's Day we couldn't get anyone out to look at it. Did I also mention that it was 112 degrees on Sunday? I felt horrible for Marley and Michael. Every time I nursed Michael he would be drenched by the time he was done eating from sweat. Marley also learned a new word. Guess what it is? Hot. She was so hot that we let her run around in a diaper. Here's some pics of Marley looking "white trashish". Her hair even looks like she has a mullet since she's sweaty.

Life with two kids.

Mike went back to work last week, and I have to say that it wasn't as bad as I expected. Marley is definitely learning that she can do just about anything while I'm nursing the baby. She's also grown so much it seems just within the past couple of weeks. Just recently we've started to let Marley feed herself without any help. This was something that I was dreading because I was thinking I'd have to clean up a huge mess after every meal but Marley has been great and she loves being so independent. She's eating goldfish with a fork :)
Marley is also so great with her brother. I love this picture that Mike took the other day of the kids together. Marley's giving Michael kisses.
Michael is also growing. I think its happening too fast. His face is starting to fill out more and I'm starting to see some cheeks. We went to see the Dr. today and he's already gained a whole pound. The kid is only two weeks old!

This kid also loves to sleep- especially in our bed. I don't really mind now but eventually we'll have to break this habit. I think Mike doesn't mind so much either, since I'm not much of a cuddler.
