How they grow

11-16-07

So last night I was looking through old pictures and videos of Marley, to see similarities between her and Michael. I stumbled along this and got so sad. I can't believe how much she's grown. I felt like a dork looking at videos and pictures with tears welling up in my eyes. Does anyone else do this?

I don't get it. I love that Marley is doing so much but, I miss that little face and the little noises she used to make before she was talking. I also realized that this is going to continue. And this cycle will continue again, not only with Marley, but with Michael, and again with every other child I have.

Well I'm at lest thankful that I took some time to save memories. This is something that I haven't been great with especially with Michael. But this was also a wake up call for me to make more of an effort to take pictures and save these things so that later I can enjoy them later when their grown.

My smiley boy

I took these pictures the other day and couldn't wait to post them. Its sad that it takes me 5 days later to actually do it. Oh well, I guess it's the life of a mom.
Michael has finally started to smile. I love his little smile because it reminds me of mine. It's usually big and cheesy. I think its adorable- but hey, it's my kid. I put it in a slide show and hope you enjoy.

I have a car!!!!

So most of you know that Mike was taking the good car to work- leaving me home without a reliable car. I love this car and it has been great. Its the car I drove in high school, so it has been through a lot. I can't complain too much since the air conditioning still worked, but the car had over 240,000 miles. All I have to say is Toyota's are awesome! We finally decided that we needed to get rid of our undependable car and get a commuter car for Mike, this would give me our other car back.

I'm happy to say that yesterday we bought a used Toyota Corolla for Mike, so as of today I officially have a car again. Woo Hoo!!! If anyone wants to hang out give me a call. I'm so excited to have my freedom back. Don't get me wrong I love being at home with my kids, and I know that home is where they learn and thrive the most. I'm just really excited to know if I want to leave my house I can.

1 month and 18 month Checkups

Michael and Marley both went to the Pediatrician today for checkups. It was weird for me to bring two kids to the pediatrician and have them both seen at the same time. Everything went great and I'm glad to know that both of my babies are growing and healthy. Here are their stats:

Marley

Weight:20lbs 9oz (5%-10%)

Height: 32 1/4in (50%-75%)

Head Circumference: 18 1/2in (50%-75%)

Marley is growing up so fast. On top of the baby sign language that we're learning she says tons of words. Her favorite word right now is "What's that?". I hear it constantly, but I love the way her little voice beams with curiosity. Other words Marley uses often are: mom, dad, cereal, cheese, and cookie- I don't know where she got that from:) One random word she knows is hoop- Mike's glad that she's already showing interest in basketball. She's also loves learning new signs and has just learned to sign airplane. She will also point out to me every time she hears an airplane outside. Marley has also mastered using utensils. She loves a bowl of cereal in the morning- just like her mom- and even drinks her milk right out of the bowl when she's done. She's also a great helper with Michael. She loves to pat his head and give him kisses. She's also great about getting diapers or blankets too. I'm so grateful for her and can't wait to see her continue to grow.

Michael

Weight: 10lbs 5oz (50%-75%)

Height: 22 1/4in (50%-75%)

Head Circumference: 14 1/2 (10%-25)

Michel is already a month old and it seems to have gone by so fast. He's definitely turned into a fat baby. His birth weight was 6lbs 15oz and within a month he's already gained 3lbs. It's also exciting to see glimpses of his personality. Michael is a great baby. He also sleeps great-thank goodness! Michael is a little more demanding than Marley was, but I'm not really sure if this is because I'm much busier now. He enjoys being held and worn in a baby carrier and I enjoy that closeness of cuddling him. I notice that He loves listening to Marley play, and I'll catch him looking around for her. He also loves to grunt and groan. When he wakes, he grunts and groans to let me know he's hungry. I love the sweet spirit that he brings into our home and I feel so blessed to be a mom.

I feel so blessed to be the mother of two great kids that are happy and healthy.
